Windows & Patio Doors – We supply insulated glass units (IGUs) with low-emissivity (low‑E) coatings and argon gas for superior insulation. Upgrading from single-pane to double- or triple-pane glazing reduces energy loss and condensation, enhancing comfort and energy efficiency.
Shower Enclosures & Doors – All our shower products are tempered or laminated safety glass, which meets BC building code, which does not allow non-safety glass in enclosures. Tempered glass is four to five times stronger than regular glass and breaks into small, blunt pieces, whereas laminated glass has an interlayer of plastic between it to hold the shards together.
Glass Railings – For decks, staircases, and balconies, we offer base shoe, standoff, and post systems with tempered or laminated panels. Our railings are engineered to resist uniform line loads and point loads mandated by building codes, and laminated glass remains in the frame after breakage.

Safety and Code Compliance

Safety Glazing

Tempered glass is manufactured by heating and rapidly cooling the material, making it at least four times stronger than annealed glass. When broken, it crumbles into small, rounded pieces that reduce the risk of injury. Laminated glass, on the other hand, is created by bonding two or more layers with a plastic interlayer, which holds fragments together upon impact and provides added security as well as sound reduction. All of our glass products are permanently labeled to indicate tempering or lamination in compliance with CAN/CGSB and international standards, and we provide documentation and test certificates upon request.

Structural Design

Section 9.6 of the BC Building Code dictates that glass must conform to CAN/CGSB standards—such as tempered or laminated safety glass, flat sheet glass, heat-absorbing glass, and insulating glass units. It also requires that glass be designed for structural loads per CAN/CGSB‑12.20 or ASTM E1300. Our engineering team calculates wind loads, impact load,s and thermal stress to ensure that panels meet or exceed these standards. We select thicknesses based on code tables specifying maximum allowable areas.

Glass Quality
